Friends of the Grappenhall Youth & Community Association

The ‘Friends of the Grappenhall Community Centre’ are a group of volunteers who organise events to raise money for special projects.  In October 2010 they donated £400 to pay for the materials to decorate the Club House Bar for the benefit of everyone who uses the Club.  The work was carried out by Volunteers and I think you will all agree that it looks cleaner and refreshingly different. We are no longer living in a ‘Tangerine Dream’.

If you are interested in helping ‘The Friends’  to raise money for special projects then please contact our Chairman, Ginny Mair or any other member and see how you can help. All offers will be gratefully received.

The Friends, represented by Gordon, Tony, Bill and Wally continue to provide great Saturday night entertainment including ‘Open the Box’ and Bingo.

The latest project has been the upgrading of the ‘Glass Wash area’ off of the main bar.  This area was originally very dark and unpleasant. It has now been transformed thanks to assistance from Howdens Joinery and Warrington South Rotary Club. Thanks also go to Joe Chiappa and Hugh McManus who gave up their time to fit the new units.  Our bar staff now have a pleasant, hygenic workspace.

The ‘Friends’ have also recently donated over £1000 to be used to commence the upgrade of the kitchen in the Olde Barn.
